Rhode Island Freemasons, their families and friends gathered at the front steps of the RI State House on Saturday, October 15 to be a part of the Masonic Grand Lodge’s rededication of the State House cornerstone.
The Masonic Grand Lodge of Rhode Island dedicated the first cornerstone on October 15, 1896. The 2022 ceremony was in keeping with the original ceremony, using the same ritual and implements used in 1896.
Concordant bodies are those organizations that are affiliated with Freemasonry. Many concordant bodies require membership in a Blue Lodge prior to joining. The Scottish Rite is a concordant body of Masonry, meaning that it is not part of the Craft Lodge, per se, but closely associated with Masonry.
